Fantastico!!!!!!!! trio di interpreti favolosi,DIMITOVA/BONISOLLI/CARROLI. A volte l'orchestra copre troppo le voci, il microfono forse non posizionato in modo adeguato. Peccato! Ma le performance delle tre voci sono eccelse. Della GENA si è detto di tutto e di più, voce colossal extra large. BONISOLLI strepitoso, nel duetto del secondo atto (di solito tagliato nella parte più ostica per limpervia tessitura che arriva al do acuto, BONISOLLI risulta vincente e non soccombe alla potenza della DIMITROVA. Poi la cavernosa voce di CARROLI completa l'opera..Qui PUCCINI ci mette tutta l'anima di grande amante è coinvolgente prende i sentimenti. Tutto fantastico. Chapeau

Meraviglioso Sinopoli! Tutte le raffinatezze di questa splendida partitura messe in evidenza,. Fanciulla è un capolavoro assoluto di orchestrazione ( Ravel la adorava). Davvero la più coinvolgente ed entusiasmante lettura di una epica " Sinfonia Vocale" , come l'ho sempre pensata. Inutile dire che i tre ruoli principali sono strepitosi! Che bella scoperta... Grazie a chi l'ha postata!

I was privileged to see this production at Glyndebourne in 1970. It remains the most memorable opera production ever. The entire cast was supreme and of course with Janet Baker and Leppard what could go wrong. The closing scene has remained with me and I have never forgotten walking round the lake at Glyndebourne afterwards on an also perfect summer evening with the sounds still resonating. Perfection personified.

A great artist who was almost totally neglected by the major recording labels.

The voice sounds more grandmotherly than that of a 16 year old girl. Those high notes near the end are HUGE!

It certainly was Arthur Davies, a distinguished Verdi tenor at ENO and elsewhere and not Ryland, who would never have sung this piece, being a great Mozartian tenor!
